2014 Looks Good for the Trucking Industry

A forecasting firm, FTR, said in it's "State of Freight" webinar on Feb.13th that the trucking industry should have a good year in 2014 due to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and "stronger freight pricing." Noel Perry, FTR senior consultant, said that they were mildly optimistic about 2014, but less optimistic about 2015-2016. Mr. Perry also encouraged the trucking industry to "stay flexible" in 2014. He pointed out that the growth in freight volume may not match what the industry saw last year and he also pointed out that the growing economy may put a strain on the trucking industry's ability to handle the increase in freight.
