6,800 Jobs Added in April by Trucking Industry

The warmer weather is largely being accredited for the improvement in the economy and for lowering the level of unemployment. According to the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly employment report, during the month of April, the for-hire trucking industry added 6,800 payroll jobs. The severe winter had slowed the economy, and ecomomists are attributing the surge in employment to the warmer weather. The entire U.S. economy added 288,000 non-farming jobs in April and unemployment rates fell 0.4 percent.  The added 6,800 payroll jobs in the for-hire trucking industry reflected in the Bureau of Labor Statistics do not include truck drivers that drive for a pricate fleet.
