Cargo Thefts High

2013 showed the same amount of cargo thefts as 2012 - 951 thefts. That's 79.25 cargo thefts per month. Of the 951 cargo thefts in 2013, 692 of them were fully loaded truckloads and container thefts. Of the most stolen loads, food and drinks accounts for the most, coming in at 27% of the stolen loads. Food loads generally have a lower amount of security, which would explain why they account for the largest percentage of stolen goods. Pharmaceuticals saw a huge increase in stolen loads in 2013 with an increase of almost 50%. Food and drink load thefts increased by 34% in 2013. You can find out more by clicking here.
