Hours of Service Exemption Extended for Propane Haulers

The previous Hours of Service Exemption that previously put into place for those who are hauling propane has now been extended until 11:59 pm on March 1st, 2014. Propane haulers making deliveries in Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Oklahoma, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, West Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota under this exemption must have a copy of the waiver with them. The National Propane Gas Association stated, in a letter to the FMCSA last month, that the nation's supply of propane is more than adequate and that the hardships of transporation and distribution are liable for the obstacles in getting the propane to the customers.
