How will we pay for the next highway bill?

The federal  funding for the Highway Infrastructure is due to expire in 2015. The current Highway Trust Fund covered the costs of infrastructure spending through the taxes paid at the pump, and only occasionally having to dip into federal resources to cover some repair costs. As the end of the current bill looms ahead, the committee gathers in front of an audience to discuss the future of the Highway Trust Fund, and to discuss from where the funds for new bill will come. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), the chair of the senate committee that is responsible for crafting the next highway bill, spoke at the Infrastructure for the Future Summit, which was a one day meeting, sponsored by the American Highway Users Alliance and the Volvo Group. Watch some excerpts of Sen. Boxer and read more opinions as options for our highway infrastructure are weighed out at the meeting.
