In Tarrytown, NY, President Obama once again addressed the ever-growing problem of our nation's infrastructure and the Highway Trust Fund. He stated that he will take executive action in order to speed up the process of Federal Permitting when it comes to big projects, like the Tappan Zee Bridge, which was a $3.9 Billion project. “I took action on my own to fast-track the permitting process for major projects like this one,” Obama stated. “Normally, it would have taken three to five years to permit this bride; we did it in a year and a half.” In his speech, he also encouraged Congress to quickly restore the Highway Trust Fund.
