Prices of Diesel Jump Up Across the Country

Following seven weeks of declining prices, with last week's national price of diesel being the lowest since the end of 2013, the cost of diesel suddenly jumped at the end of the week ending on June 22nd by a national average of 3.7 cents per gallon.  According to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration, the average cost of diesel is $3.919 per gallon. The West Coast saw the largest price jump, with an increase of 5.9 cents per gallon. The most expensive diesel can be found in California, with an average price of $4.119 per gallon.  The country's cheapest diesel can be found on the Gulf Coast, where you can find diesel fuel for $3.813 per gallon.
