Recalls On Volvos and Freightliners

In June of 2014, both Volvo and Freightliner will both be issuing recall orders for select models, though both for different reasons.  The Volvo recall includes  the 2011-2015 VNL's and 2014-2015 VNM trucks that were built between Nov. 17, 2010, and Feb. 5, 2014 and that have an enhanced cruise control but no side fairings. Volvo says that the recall can possibly affect up to 862 trucks.

Freightliner will be recalling 2015 Cascadia, 122SD and Business Class M2 models that were manufactured between March 20, 2014, and April 10, 2014 due to a possible manufacturing error that can cause weak spots on in the beams of the axle assemblies and ultimately cause the beams to bend, break or the wheels to fall off.  Both manufacturers will be notifying the owners of the potentially affected trucks.
